The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is meant for candidates from all academic disciplines seeking senior and top management positions in public and private enterprise services. The programme provides a strong platform on a wide range of management issues, techniques and practices, plus specialized knowledge in many areas of today’s global business environment. In addition, it allows detailed expertise to be developed across a range of subjects, thereby creating a unique insight into management decision-making and practices. The programme will enable candidates to develop a holistic view of business and enhance their awareness of social, cultural and ethical issues. It provides candidates with a balance of theoretical and experiential learning, thus enabling them to develop business and leadership skills and appreciation of good management practices for the challenging and turbulent globalized world. The MBA is a contemporary and challenging programme comprising 13 core subjects including business research methods, two elective subjects and a Research Project. Throughout the programme, candidates will be encouraged to participate in enhancement courses such as a Project/Dissertation Writing Workshop, and to attend seminars and talks conducted by industry practitioners.

Mode of Study

Coursework and Project
The coursework-based MBA programme comprises a major coursework component and a research component, usually termed ‘research project’. Satisfactory completion of both components is required for the award of the degree. The coursework component consists of a number of subjects assessed by a combination of continuous assessment and examinations. Continuous assessment includes individual and group assignment work, case-studies and tests. Some subjects may include additional practical components.
