The Bachelor of International Business (Hons) programme will provide opportunities to students who are interested in embarking on careers in companies with overseas operations, and to be exposed to a broad range of international business related units. In today’s ever-changing business environment, students must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds who use different systems and currencies to achieve their personal and organisational goals. Management level aspiring graduates must understand the intricacies and difficulties of doing business with partners from other countries. Various factors must be considered, in terms differences in culture, language, political systems, geography, and socio-economic factors that all influence various business practices across the world. The world has become an economic marketplace without boundaries. The students must therefore possess the international business fundamental concepts to extend business across national and international borders successfully. Knowledge and understanding of global issues is critical and a source of competitive advantage. Hence, the degree programme seeks to impart in students skills and capabilities that allows for a career in various segments of the business world, in particular knowledge and understanding of global issues. International business studies therefore prepares students for diverse business opportunities and be proficient in the international business for the global market place.

Career Prospects

Graduates of this programme will possess the international business fundamentals and concepts that opens up opportunities for a career in all areas of business and management within organisations operating in an international environment. This could include working in functional areas such as marketing, finance, human resource management or operations in multinational companies either in Malaysia or anywhere in the world. Students can pursue interesting careers within the international business and related professions such as International Marketing Manager, International Sales Representative, Global Distribution Manager, Global Logistics, International Trade Manager and many other related positions.
